These terms are an agreement between you and the operator of MECHADUEL (“MECHADUEL”, “we”, “us”). They cover the game at play.mechaduel.com, downloadable builds of the game, the website at mechaduel.com, and every account, match, deck and chat message on the service.
By creating an account, playing the game (including as a guest), or using the website, you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
You must be 16 or older to use MECHADUEL. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, a parent or guardian must read and agree to these terms on your behalf. We do not knowingly allow accounts for anyone under 16 — if we learn of one, we will delete it.
Everything that makes up MECHADUEL belongs to MECHADUEL and its operator. That includes the game and the website and all of their content: the cards and their names, text, and artwork; the rules and mechanics as expressed in the game; the MECHADUEL name and logo; the software, servers, sound, music, and visual design. All rights are reserved.
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to play MECHADUEL and use the website for your own entertainment. These terms transfer no ownership of any kind to you — including of cards, decks, or anything else that appears “in” your account.
Except as these terms allow (see section 8 on fan content), you may not copy, redistribute, sell, or create derivative works from the game or its assets — including extracting card art or audio, redistributing game builds, or publishing a game that presents itself as MECHADUEL or is built from its assets.
Be reasonable at the table. You must not:
Finding a bug is welcome; exploiting one is not. Use the in-game REPORT A BUG button and you have our thanks.
We want people to make things about MECHADUEL. You may stream the game, post videos and screenshots, and monetize that content through standard platform programs (ads, subscriptions, donations), provided your content adds your own commentary or creativity, does not imply we endorse you, and does not present itself as official. We may ask for the removal of fan content that is misleading, infringing, or attached to conduct that violates section 4.
MECHADUEL is run by a small team. We do not promise the service will be available, uninterrupted, or bug-free, and we may change, suspend, or shut down any part of it — including permanently — at any time. Where practical we will give notice on mechaduel.com, but we are not required to.
Downloadable builds may be distributed through third-party platforms (such as itch.io); their terms also apply to downloads from them. The website may link to other sites; we are not responsible for them.
MECHADUEL is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Your use of the service is at your own risk.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MECHADUEL and its operator are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, progression, virtual items, or goodwill, arising from use of the service — including the conduct or content of other players. To the extent liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability is limited to twenty US dollars (USD $20) or the total amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim, whichever is greater.
If your breach of these terms, or content you created, results in claims, damages, or costs against MECHADUEL or its operator, you agree to indemnify us for them.
We may update these terms as the game grows. Material changes will be announced on mechaduel.com, and the effective date above will change. Continuing to use the service after a change takes effect means you accept it. If you do not accept a change, stop using the service and, if you wish, ask us to delete your account.
If you have a problem, tell us first: write to support@mechaduel.com and give us thirty days to resolve it informally before taking any formal action. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and any dispute that cannot be resolved informally belongs to the state or federal courts located in Illinois — except where the law where you live grants you protections that cannot be waived.
You may stop using MECHADUEL at any time and may ask us to delete your account (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or terminate access as described in section 6. Sections 5, 11, 12, 13, and 15 survive termination.
